Petit Bijou language summary: April to July 2026 (11 weeks)

This is a guide only: plenty of other language will be used during the lessons,  and in the songs, the activity sheets, and the suggestions for further learning.

Comment ça va?/Ça va? (how are you/how’s it going)   Ça va/Ça va bien (I’m okay/fine)  

Très bien merci (very well thanks)   Ça va mal (not very good)   

Je suis fatigué/fatiguée (I’m tired)       Et toi/vous (how about you?)

 

Topic 1: A la plage (at the beach)

We will learn to talk about the activities we enjoy doing at the beach

Je joue au ballon (I play ball)   Je nage dans la mer (I swim in the sea)

Je fais un château de sable (I make a sandcastle)   je mange une glace (I eat an ice cream)   

Je fais du bodyboard (I go body boarding)

Topic 2: A la boulangerie (at the bakery)  

Children will learn how to ask for food in a French bakery and will have the opportunity to try a tasty treat in our end of term boulangerie role plays!

 un croissant (a croissant)   une tarte aux pommes (an apple tart) 

 un pain au chocolat (like a croissant, with a chocolate filling)  

 une quiche Lorraine (cheese & bacon quiche) une baguette (baguette/French stick) 

 un pain aux raisins (a sweet pastry with custard filling and sultanas)
